SUDER ATTORNEYS
was formed by FARHANA SUDER in 2002. Farhana holds the BA.LLB degree, and boasts additional qualifications in Corporate and Securities Law and Business Rescue. Farhana was admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 1999. During 2006, Farhana obtained Right of Appearance in the High Court of South Africa, allowing her to practice as Counsel.

Farhana Suder is a seasoned legal advisor, general counsel, director and outsourced Company Secretary to several corporate entities.

Farhana has been and is involved as Advisor in several high level projects spanning both the public and private sector. She boasts extensive experience in the government and the corporate and commercial sector, spanning negotiating and drafting of contracts and commercial agreements, development of policies and procedures, risk management, litigation and litigation management, transaction advisory, insolvency and business rescue, deal negotiations, deal structuring, debt structuring, mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance implementation and monitoring. She has been and is currently a member of the project management teams and technical briefing committees of various public sector projects, heading the legal work streams. Her role included/includes providing general legal advisory services, project legal advisory services, transaction legal advisory services, review of organizational structures, review of job descriptions and development of revised job descriptions, review of contracts with service providers and recommendations on enhancing service level agreements, and project managing the legal work-stream.

Her involvement in public sector projects involved engagement with senior management and senior stakeholders, being responsible for overseeing and monitoring the project management and implementation of critical projects.

She has been integrally involved in cross border projects in Zimbabwe, Botswana, Lesotho and Congo.

Her role as lead Advisor and general counsel for the legal function in the private sector entails legal budget management, monitoring and management of external service providers, litigation and litigation management, assessing legal risks of business strategy, mitigation of legal risks, human resource management and operational risk management. She has advised, negotiated and drafted contracts for project financing transactions. As an experienced attorney and project manager her experience has been diverse due to the diversity of the legal and consulting space in which she is a key role player. She is seasoned in the areas of, inter alia, corporate and commercial law, employment law, business rescue and insolvency law, IP law, family and child law, property law, administrative law, administration of deceased estates, governance and compliance, forensic investigations, litigation, debt collection, procurement law, municipal laws, competition law, consumer protection law, gambling and lottery laws, foreclosures and business law. She has played a key role in transactions involving various industry sectors and legal landscapes including, inter alia, media, transport, property, telecommunications, government, gambling and lotteries, liquidations, company and property acquisitions and disposals and procurement.
